I think it is mandatory to add a column on the right of each telescope with some symbols/figures summarizing:

  1. current local time at the telescope with a symbol night/day,
  2. weather status (good, fair, cloud, rain, ...),
  3. current observatory status (free, maintenance, observing, ...).

This should be replicated in the reservation table for the first entry, if scheduled time is within (say) 1 hour from current time. To avoid network load, info for 2 and 3 should be retrieved regularly (say every 5 minutes) from the telescopes with a batch process that feeds a central DB where these info are read.
