This will not affect the result of archive creation as we don't have alternatives, and thus don't have any tech specified in our index.json files. Thus, this can be merged safely. In fact, the old configurations in contib/archives/configs were incompatible with the tech switch.
The hardcoded things in the editor more apply to the tech switch in templates/profiles; I added a comment in this issue regarding this.
