Can you update your code to use the latest fleet_request from here: https://github.com/GMLC-1-4-2/battery_interface/blob/master/src/fleet_request.py
Please add a test.py to your fleet folder to demonstrate how to run your device
I strongly advise to look at the battery_inverter device code

@ORNLJD Please also refer to the GLOBAL fleet_interface, fleet_request, fleet_response instead of copying them to your local and refer them from there. You can do that by:

Remove the 3 files from your device folder

Add the code:

from os.path import dirname, abspath, join
sys.path.insert(0,dirname(dirname(dirname(abspath(__file__)))))
# Reference the global classes
from fleet_interface import FleetInterface
from fleet_response  import FleetResponse
