[REQ] Topology editor enhancements #1748

Hello, I would find it very beneficial to have at least one of the below features added:

1)Possibility to “elongate” devices (especially switches). The elongated switch would then provide more real estate for attached devices. This feature would help in cases where there are 15+ devices connected to one switch and all the interface labels are overlapping. example-1 or example-1a

2) Possibility to draw bent links; at least in steps of 90 degrees.

example-2

3) To be able to name layers and have the ability to hide some of them. It would then be possible to have one layer called "clients" , one called "servers" and one layer called "network". One could then simply hide all client devices to make the topology more clear.

4) The ability to draw lines as objects. It is possible now to draw a very narrow rectangle, but it is a lot of work to put it in the right place and rotate it correctly. 0286

5) The ability to rotate objects right from the GUI. Perhaps by holding CTRL and dragging the corner of a shape. For example to rotate the below port-channel labels is pretty complicated. Once the switches are moved, the angle of the shape needs to be manually adjusted too. 0287

6) Add a few simple buttons for text editing that would allow to quickly increase the font size and color.

7) The ability to change link colors and thickness to be able to distinguish different VLANs and trunks from access links.

8) It would also be great to be able to name links. When the links are moved, the their label would move as well and in the right angle.

9) It would be nice if we could redefine the interface label colors and text size. The same settings would then apply to all future link labels.

Basically, I would like to see GNS3 with simplified Visio-like capabilities.

Thank you for considering this idea and even more for your continuous development of GNS3. I love GNS3! Sairus
