There were a number of lingering API questions; these pages addressed those questions, and were shared with the API list.

It would be good to have these be in the mainline branch as opposed to floating in draft.

I have updated pages based on convo w/ LH, and hope they look good.

@danswick , I've responded to feedback from Laura. I've been sharing this branch for a long time publicly, because it contains info that users needed. I think you're one of the better person to review for publication.
