This is a great set of resources Jacob, maybe someone should synthesize them into an easy-to-access article...

Also, have we had much discussion around XML vs.JSON and whatever impact that could have on CMS procurement? This and APIs seem to bump against my technical knowledge limits (I think I need to actually build one to understand it), but it could be something for discussion or if there have been any lessons learned.
