Perhaps we can integrate this with the enhancement of the harvest logs so we can provide daily metrics
I think this is a multipart task:
@philipashlock In addition to the current datasets publisher per month which shows last tweleve months data, we are planning add this new page which shows full history since inception.
By default, page will show current year data, and has the link to toggle previous years data, also we are introducing a search box to search by a keyword. Data will be downloadable in CSV, JSON.
See the mockup below for the above options.
The CSV URL will be permanent, which can be used to register it in the GSA inventory.
@philipashlock Complete history of dataset published per month history is now available at https://www.data.gov/metric/federalagency/dataset-published-per-month-full
We can make this the default datasets published per month, or have link to this page from the current last months datasets published page.
This new page will have a horizontal scroll bar if more than one year is chosen to display the data, year links including (+/-) will work as a toggle for the including the data for that year. Search box will give an easy way to search for an agency and look at the data. By default current year data is displayed.
CSV export link https://www.data.gov/media/federal-agency-participation-full-by-metadata_created.csv will have data from since inception, this can be registered in GSA data.json metadata.
JSON export https://www.data.gov/media/federal-agency-participation-full-by-metadata_created.json is also available, which is being used to render the page as well.
@philipashlock @hkdctol https://www.data.gov/metric/federalagency/dataset-published-per-month is now referring to the full history of the datasets published per month.
"Ensure datasets published per month CSV is listed as a dataset in the GSA inventor", is only pending item on this which can be set up in data.json by registering the csv URL - https://www.data.gov/media/federal-agency-participation-full-by-metadata_created.csv
Should considering leveraging https://analytics.usa.gov/
@philipashlock @JJediny moved to latest milestone 2.3, to follow up any closing actions on this.
Has this been resolved?
It'd be great to see a blogpost on Data.gov metrics (and why the dataset number changes) on data.gov/meta/ and linked to in the FAQ.
