It'd be great if there were a button to export just the drafts to send them for review.
@ykhadilkar-rei We can add a custom field "Publishing Status" "Draft/Published", anything selected as Draft will be ignored for PDL/EDI generation.
All the existing datasets can be set as "Published" for this new field, before introducing this in the UI.
@ykhadilkar-rei Also there seems to be other effort to have this as a core CKAN feature, may be we can check that as well.
@ykhadilkar-rei my problem is I have to send the drafts around to people who don't have access to inventory.data.gov (and wouldn't use it) for review. I'd like to be able to export just the drafts, copy them into Word, do a bunch of searching and replacing, and circulate that "pretty" file for review. Is that likely to be possible?
@bletalien @kvuppala @philipashlock Added button to export draft datasets. EDL and PDL will only include published datasets
By default every dataset will be treated as published.
@ykhadilkar-rei Great! Sorry it took me so long to respond -- my spam filter caught your message and didn't even have the courtesy to tell me. This will drastically improve my process. Thank you. Any idea when it'll be available?
@bletalien no worries. We will be pushing this along with other changes on 26th. So you should be able to see it on prod on 27th.
@ykhadilkar-rei What great news! You have no idea how much easier you just made my life!
Deployed on production on 03/26.
This needs to be added to the documentation here to provide clarity to this functionality to users: http://www.digitalgov.gov/resources/inventory-data-gov-guide/
So you can save a draft without it exporting to PDL or EDI
