Discrepancy between FedRAMP and NIST prop name in back-matter #216

Open telosBA opened 2 years ago

telosBA commented 2 years ago

NOTE: For feedback related to the OSCAL syntax itself, please create or add to an issue in the NIST OSCAL Repository.

FedRAMP-SSP-OSCAL-Template.xml Line 2256

The FedRAMP Template uses <prop> name="publication" while the OSCAL schema notes an accepted value of <prop> name="published" OSCAL Schema noting allowed values for prop name

1.0.2

What should <prop> name="" when referencing the publication date of a document, namely: "publication" or "published"?

david-waltermire commented 2 years ago

IMHO, the core OSCAL value of published should be used to maximize interoperability. My suggestion is for FedRAMP to deprecate use of publication in favor of published for this reason.
