Dear Mr. Liddell,

The Coalition for Government Procurement (The Coalition) requests that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issue a 14-day extension on the deadline to submit comments on the draft IT Modernization Plan.

The Coalition is a non-profit association of firms selling commercial services and products to the Federal Government. Our members collectively account for tens of billions of dollars of the sales generated through the GSA Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) program, VA Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), the Government-wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC), and agencyspecific multiple award contracts (MAC). Coalition members include small, medium, and large business concerns that account for more than 40% of all Government IT spending. The Coalition is proud to have worked with Government officials for more than 35 years towards the mutual goal of common sense acquisition.

The Coalition and its members appreciate that OMB is taking the time gather feedback from industry on the draft IT Modernization. This is a significant document which could potentially impact IT purchasing for the next decade. Therefore, in the public interest, the Coalition requests an extension of the deadline for comments so that the public and other stakeholders have more time to develop comments on the draft plan. An extension is consistent with the Administration’s goal of gathering as much input as possible from the public and from the commercial sector. Furthermore, an extension would allow for more fulsome comments on the draft plan, which will lead to better outcomes for the Government.

Thank you for considering the Coalition’s request for an extension. If there are any questions, please contact me at (202) 331-0975 or rwaldron@thecgp.org.

Sincerely, Roger Waldron President
