GSA / openacr

OpenACR is a digital native Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR). The initial development is based on Section 508 requirements. The main goal is to be able to compare the accessibility claims of digital products and services. A structured, self-validated, machine-readable documentation will provide for this.

In Basic Checklist under General Preparation: change bullet:

Establish a formal Section 508 compliance determination process. Use the process to document compliance decisions. Support decisions with relevant Section 508 artifacts (Market Research, ACRs, Section 508 Exceptions, test results, and “best meets” determinations.)

In Basic Checklist under For each technology procurement: change bullet:

Validate vendor Section 508 conformance claims through expert analysis. Example documentation for conformance claims includes OpenACRs (or legacy Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs™) or Government Product Accessibility Templates (GPATs)).
