Description

as the form gets more complex we may be able to leverage a state machine for clear and consise movement through error, input, step, etc handling

User Story

As a developer I would like to manage complex state with a consistent design pattern

Acceptance Criteria

• [ ] example of state machine is prototyped and considered for implementation

Some refactoring needs to be done before state machine can be implemented. Moving this to the product backlog.
