Consolidate Public safety officers death and education benefits

Description

Death life event has two benefits for Public Safety Officers which lead to the same page and have the same eligibility criteria. Want to consolidate these two to create a smoother benefits results.

User Story

As a user I want to see a consolidated list of benefits and not have duplicated info.

As a content strategist, I want to consolidate benefits with the same information and eligibility criteria.

  • [ ] Summary: This program provides death and education benefits to survivors of fallen law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders, and disability benefits to officers catastrophically injured in the line of duty.
• [ ] ES Title: Beneficios para sobrevivientes de agentes de seguridad pública AND Asistencia educativa para sobrevivientes de agentes de seguridad pública
  • [ ] Summary: Este programa brinda beneficios por la muerte de agentes del orden, bomberos y otros socorristas caídos, y para la educación de sus sobrevivientes y beneficios por discapacidad a los oficiales que sufrieron lesiones catastróficas en el cumplimiento de su deber.

@erniedeeb wanted to get your clearance before consilidating these two benefits. They have the same URL and eligibility criteria.

We will keep the Public safety officers' disability benefits separate bc it requires the applicant to have a disability, which is a separate eligibility criteria.

Hi Diego. If the eligibility criteria is the same, then I don't suppose it hurts to combine the two. Though in going through the form to confirm the eligibility, I see that we might be missing a criteria. PSOB criteria states these benefits are available to a relative of a safety officer who died on of after September 29, 1976. It seems we are not taking that criteria into account when calculating eligibility.

Thanks for sharing this, @erniedeeb. I was looking at the benefit info from the PSOB link we use on the benefit finder, which is pretty vague.

Looking at this doc, it makes sense to keep them separate and add eligibility criteria to each one.

Death benefits-->

• DOD of the benefit >=9/29/76
• There is no relationship to the deceased since it can be any "eligible survivors", not sure if that means other family Education benefits-->
• Only for spouses and children
