Your Expectation

I've used over a stack of Ethereal Blooms and a Witchery Shifting Seasons IV potion to clean up an Eerie Biome after removing the nodes. Spamming both cleansing methods does nothing. I have Nanosuit Googles of Revealing and I can't find any other hidden nodes.

When the entire chunk and surrounding chunks are covered with Ethereal blooms, the Eerie biome bounces around randomly for like 6-7 blocks, but it never actually goes away.

I have tested this with three other areas around my base, and all of them work flawlessly. The only difference was that the terrain below those areas wasn't dug out before trying to remove the node and purify the chunk.

I have tried placing Sinister Nodes in the area and letting them corrupt the area and hopefully overwrite whatever flag is causing this. That also, didn't work.

I wish I could provide more info.

The Reality

The Eerie biome always comes back. Oddly enough, it won't "update" the biome in the affected area unless I manually trigger a block update by placing a torch or something.

Your Proposal

This is over my head, I can't find this bug anywhere I've looked online, or on the Discord. So, I don't know.

Final Checklist

After looking into this more, copying my world and deleting that specific region to regenerate, I learned there wasn't a surface node.

I made the assumption Sinister Nodes only spawned in pillars, but there was one sitting nearly at bedrock in that area. My bad.
