When storing items in a backpack the items should be persistent
The Reality
When enough items are stored in the backpack they start disappearing on exiting the backpack. I was storing large quantities of full large stainless steal fluid cells (attached is the exact breakpoint for me. It ate my Ammonia I put in there as well as some empty fluid tanks I put in)
After reaching the breakpoint I could also dupe the items in the backpack prior to the breakpoint by removing them and closing the backpack. Upon opening the backpack the items were still in the backpack while also being in my inventory.
Your Proposal
Make it not? If I had to guess it's something to do with the way the contents of the backpacks are saved on closing such that excess items are deleted. If a solution that keeps the items in the backpack isn't an option then one that drops them at the players feet rather than deletes them would be preferable.
