Your Expectation

I wanted to post this in Tips; but it's prob just too broken to the point of being unintentional behavior.

If you do this upgrade to LV Conveyor it will go from 1 stack in 20 sec to being even better than IV tier : image

The Reality

The speed goes all the way to max -- from 20 sec per 1 stack to an update every tick; and it also loses the restriction on how many stacks per action it can move being limited only by the pipe throughput it is attached to.

So if it's attached to Huge Electrum it will work as a UV conveyour moving 8 stacks per update which is every tick.

Your Proposal

Idk fix it.

Also when I bring this up in disc many people were saying not to post this as conveyors are indeed very bad in early ages and I'm ratting out this thing xdd...

But this isn't the way and I would hate to have to use it... Mb consider buffing LV conveyours from 1 in 20 to 1 in 2-5?..

They just suck and it's not even about throughput but just to wait 20 sec to verify that you have setup system correctly. Or for newer players to see a feedback of their action to learn how the stuff work and not stare into the system for 20 sec or having to relog in creative world.

GTNH has huge early game compared to what it was balanced around in vanilla GT; and I think that it would be good if tools to deal with problems were updated accordingly.

Final Checklist

they were already nerfed once lmao. They need polyethylene now to make.

Idk as I was saying I thought about posting it to Tips channel; but for me it's just feels bad.... It's obscure and broken item that I've only found out by chance.

My understanding of the speed buff on these is because they are bad; they only have a single slot despite other filters having 5-10 slots (eio filter 5, gt item filter 9, eio adv filter 10) and so to trade that off, you get speed (same as IV conveyor). I am personally happy with this tradeoff, it should say this throughput somewhere though.

I think it's just an obscure item with no restrictions on it as it only has a single tier. But you can craft it very cheap from LV components and it is better than MV HV EV IV regular conveyors that do not have and are not made for filtering. Mb it's actually better than IV if it really has no restrictions.

In terms of balance I've also suggested buffing low tier conveyors; I think the reaction of people defending this thing shows more low tier conveyors being shit of not being smart; but also having a 1 in 20 sec throughput lol.

These items are unlikely to be the best available filter outside of early tiers. Therefore, they should probably be no faster than HV conveyors, and they should definitely be no faster than IV conveyors.

I've been using these extensively for their intended purpose (i.e. filtering a single item at a time, with Gregtech logistics and without having to use the bulkier multi-slot item filters with their own more complex behaviour). Their functionality would not suffer at all if they were limited to IV conveyor throughput, and I doubt they'll need more than HV conveyor throughput (i.e. one stack per second) for the vast majority of setups that people are actually likely to be using them for. EV+ is the sort of stage of the game where, in my experience at least, it starts to make much more sense to be moving away from these filter covers in the majority of circumstances where previously you may have chosen to use them, which is why I don't think they need to be faster than HV conveyors. That said, they also probably shouldn't be slower than HV conveyors, and they're already prohibitively expensive to use in every single circumstance pre-HV (plus their very limited functionality besides filtering makes them less useful than regular conveyors a lot of the time).

i'd rather let this availiable as is than people going back to buggy and laggy SFM to achieve the same thing. Is it really a bad thing? The more you progress in the game, the less you'll use the conveyors because AE2 will have tools to avoid item movement. And before AE2, well, even if you can move stuff at light speed, you haven't real usages as you cannot produce stuff this fast, effectively making it bound to production rate, which makes stuff effectively be low tier conveyors. And if by miracle you have made a setup that really requires to move items this fast, you deserve to have an alternative.

Couldn't they just be locked to only perform actions with item set? That way it'd be as fast, but still limited to only one item. Unless it supports blacklist mode? EDIT: Nevermind, it does have blacklist mode.
