Dimensional Doors is a huge staple early modded minecraft, as well as being a pretty dangerous and horror-esque in theming. So that alone would probably give it a warm welcome for the pack.
In GTNH specifically though, in terms of practicality, I find that there seems to be a pretty notable lack of transportation and travel earlier on, and generally you tend to not do much exploration in the pack. I mean, you settle down at one spot in the overworld, build up your infrastructure until EV, and then shift towards your PDim is kinda the main pathway.
With Dimensional Doors, you can actually support the ability to explore far distances while keeping travel linked together. Sure, the modpack's structure is oriented more about completing the pack and getting the stargate, but adding more branch goals that fit more with the "settle in a world for a long period of time" setting of vanilla would also fit well! Since, I mean, stargate takes thousands of hours to complete, so.
Preliminary Investigation
While I have not tried adding the mod to GTNH, I did have some thoughts on its implementation and integration.
For starters the items for this mod definitely should be integrated within Thaumcraft. Fits especially with the more eldritch themes of the mod.
As for the main features of the mod, they probably shouldn't be gated too deep in Thaumcraft proper. Probably pretty early after getting your eldritch epiphany, and requiring Infusion. Although that could be better determined by the GTNH team.
