Custom Main Menu - Animated Image Support?

It seems that currently the only way to do it is to have each frame as a separate image in a background slideshow (as in the NotHard version) which is a bit peculiar (at least it works, though).

I was curious if this was something that was going to be implemented, or if it was determined not to be possible.

Ideally, both GIFs and APNGs would be supported.

Apologies if this isn't the right place for it, couldn't think of anywhere better.
