pretty sure the 18->16 is meant to be a slight loss when lathing your bolt to a screw. Doesnt make much sense for solidifier though I guess. hmm.
Now that i think about it, there's a precedent in the Rotor recipe, for an alternative recipe that gives a small discount. Extruder uses 5, assembler and solidification use 4.25.

Your Proposal
Make Screw molding and Fluid recycling equivalent. To fluid solidify a screw, you need 18L, however you only get 16L back from recycling it in a fluid extractor. Where are these 2L going?
Your Goal
Make it make sense /j
These should be equivalent. There is no loss that can be assumed, like in bolt to screw, so the discrepancy doesn't make sense.
Your Vision
Equivalency. It would also open an optional, but small save of material if you make casting it 16, or would recycle better if extracting is made into 18.
