Place down a bed and go to sleep

The Reality

I tried to place a bed (sleeping bag) in the middle of a deset, next to a cactus, but when I placed the bed it destroyed the cactus and the bed, and placed the bed onto the ground, whilst not taking the bed out of my inventory from it being placed. Pretty sure that happened because it didn't want to let me place the bed, but still let me without registering that i did place it, because of the cactus. So now I have 2 sleeping bags, where at the start of this process I had 1, essentially duping a sleeping bag

Can't reproduce. I also can't think of a case where the sleeping bag block would be broken here. You are talking about the "Sleeping Bag" from the mod "Sleeping Bag", right?
