That actually sounds like an interesting idea. Guess tho it will not be easy to implement as there is currently no flag (that I known of) to decide that basically the same recipe has different requirements and results in different dimensions...
I think it would be easier to implement as part of Air Intake Hatch, although I'm not sure. Also, this looks similar to GT6 air stuff (it has nether and end air respectively), would be cool if someone ported it over and add functionality to intake hatch.

The air hatch is being removed, though I have something in the works to replace it. It's not done yet though.

I figured that, between circuits and whatever system is used for low gravity, something could be figured out

Maybe then also port Air Vent cover from GT6? Sounds like idea, way easier than recipes dependant on dimension IMO.
I have no idea what that is, you can bring it up again when/if I finish it.
basically a cover that you can slap onto something (pipe, machine, etc.) that collects air. No need to craft a hatch or something, just use whatever tile entity you have to fill with air. Also to note, all those air variants work for regular applications (lets call that fluid oredict?), such as polymerization or other recipes that might need air, but not distillation.
We're not doing that. The air intake hatch is already OP, no need to add an OP replacement.

What do you suggest instead/what changes do you propose?
Compressing an empty cell on another planet should give compressed air from that planet, which can then be centrifuged/distilled.
Notably, Mars has about twice as much argon as earth, and Mercury’s atmosphere is ~6% helium and much richer in Krypton than earth. (As a percentage)
And that’s just if you want to stick with real proportions
Making these cells could cost more energy to represent it being harder to collect the same amount of gas in a thinner atmosphere.
The gas giants would probably be good too, but I have seen the thread in the icebox, and I don’t have anything to add to that discussion.
