Contingent upon completion of #86.
I followed up today with the COR and VA IT help and I am still waiting on a final approval from the VA to obtain access to MDClone. Once the approval goes through, it should take about 20 minutes to reflect in the system and I should be able to begin working within MDClone at that point. The in-progress query has been shared with me so it will also be ready to use as soon as I have access.
Instructions to access MDClone via the Citrix Access Gateway (temporary PIV exemption).
Citrix Contact Info: Shauna at the VA: 708-483-5202, Ticket #INC28514014, Central Time
Called and left a message with Shauna at Citrix. I will try again tomorrow morning.
I spoke with Shauna at citrix, the issue is my PIV reader. I need to replace it with this: https://support.identiv.com/scr3310v2/. In the meantime, I am on the phone with VA's Enterprise IT to extend my PIV exemption.
I was able to extend my PIV exemption until 8/31/2023. This should provide enough time for me to finish a mini-query (subset of 5-7 variables) in preparation for the meeting with Vinod on 9/1. I was also made aware of an ID.me option, allowing me to request a single-day PIV exemption, which I will do for the meeting on 9/1 if needed.
I spoke with VA IT yesterday (8/30) and they extended my PIV exemption through 9/6. However, when trying to use that login, the credentials were not recognized. During the call I was unable to use my prior login credentials. After the call with IT, I tried again and I am still able to log in with my previous PIV exemption credentials (scheduled to expire 8/31). VA IT also put in a ticket for Citrix since the login credentials were not working. Based on their feedback, I will need to request access to Citrix Access Gateway, since it did not show that I have access to that VPN. We tried accessing through Cisco with no luck.
08.30.2023 I access MDClone and completed the mini-query with 7 data properties of interest. I was able to extract this query but since it is within the VA virtual desktop and I am still unable to access my VA email, I do not have a way to pull the .csv file out of the VA environment. I will reach out to VA IT tomorrow morning to a) confirm my exemption credentials extension, and b) access outlook, submit the citrix access gateway request for authorization.
In the meantime, I have sent a copy of the query design to Vinod, so that during the 9/1 meeting we can review it from his side at the very least.
I met with Vinod today and was able to make some progress on the MDClone query:
I will work with Urnisha to finish the remaining variables following this process. I set a meeting for 9/29 @ 2:00 PM ET with Vinod. If we finish before that date or have any questions for Vinod, we will reach out to him.
I am still working with VA's IT to obtain permanent access using my PIV card. In the meantime, I am using PIV exemption credentials to continue working with MDClone.
Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) at 855-673-4357 (TTY: 1 844 224 6186)
I spoke with Enterprise IT & the PIV Card office today and was unable to resolve the issue.
The first enterprise agent (Ticket #INC28774072) tried some troubleshooting tasks and informed me that the ticket from last week (8/30) was mistakenly placed on a different account, so the information from them about needing to re-request auth is incorrect. They recommended I contact the PIV office to see if there is an issue with the card.
They also provided instructions on accessing outlook when I am able to use my PIV card to get in: Your IT > Sign in > M365 Request > Request Access/Issues > Work Order
I then called PIV Office (18th & G St.) who informed me that there is nothing they can do and that I need to reset the certificate with Citrix. This is a common issue people call with.
I called enterprise again (Ticket #INC28774601) and we performed the following troubleshooting items: cleared cache, installed chain fix (already installed), checked internet properties to see what certificates were listed (none), reset the citrix workspace certificate, checked the citrix version was up to date, uninstalled and re-installed citrix workstation, attempted azure desktop sign in, and updated drivers for reader and card in device manager. All of these troubleshooting items were done trying both card readers and both chrome and edge browsers. The enterprise agent then recommended I contact the PIV office again because she strongly believes it's an issue with the card. She also put in a ticket for me to be contacted by Citrix IT to continue troubleshooting on their end. I am unable to get a PIV exemption with supervisor approval, since I've already had it twice in a 35 day period. She sent a teams message to Josh and will get back to me if he provides approval.
I called the PIV office again and explained the situation to them. They reiterated that it could not be an issue on their end, stating that they don't do anything with the certifications they only print the cards. If there was an issue with loading the card, it wouldn't let the card print. They suspect it is a publishing certificates issue.
I will follow up with Citrix to see if we can figure out additional options. I will also reach out to Josh and see if he can see any errors on his end, and if we can move forward with PIV exemptions.
I spoke with Enterprise IT (Ticket #INC28817981) and after troubleshooting, they put in a request for the Local IT to contact me. I provided my phone number as well as my email address (lorikrammer@gwu.edu). They will see if they can identify the issue on their end, and determine if an onsite visit or new card is needed.
