Leaderboard transparency on the Encounter page #307

Couple of requests have echoed a thought I had while building leaderboards:

There's no way to tell on the encounter page that a log was ranked in a leaderboard and sifting through all the variations of leaderboards is tedious.

What I'd like to do is add some sort of "flair" that indicates that a few things:

  1. Ranking for an Era (Would display the era and the rank)

  2. Ranking for a Week (Would display the week and the rank)

  3. Down the road maybe we should show the rank for era and week on ALL encounters but emphasis the ones that actually appear on the leaderboards.

I think this is key to getting people truly invested in leaderboards as they can use their encounters as a personal "badge of honor".

Another thought is that it would be great if we could enable leaderboard flair on personal stats as well. Being able to see the total # of leaderboard rankings you have for Era/Week would be another way we can instill a sense of pride in your Raidar profile.

Potentially aspects of "flair" could be a Pateron only feature, for example we could give >$1 Paterons the ability to display their total leaderboard ranks on any encounter they participate in.

Hmmm sounds like a great idea! Re Patreon stuff, is there a way to automate identification of Patreon pledgers? I assume there would be...

Just thinking about this a bit more, i think the first quick win we want to have is to show the tags on the leaderboard page for the encounter as people are wanting to know at a glance who's encounter without having to click through. Is this something we can get working on now @ajrdesign ?

Hmm... I'll look into it. I'm not sure I know how to include tags on the leaderboard page but I'll take a shot to see if it's easy.

You can’t, the data is not there yet. That said, you mock it up, and I’ll make it happen. ;)
