Added option to pick images from gallery in sample app. Removed few unnecessary code.

Sorry for the late response. I saw your PR a long time ago but I leaved it open to see if there is a way to make the automated tests pass. But now that I think about it this will never pass automated tests since now the app waits for the user to take a picture. Closing.
