When pressing enter with search, it takes me to an almost-blank page

Describe the bug Typing into search bar search strings that have no results and pressing enter takes me to a mostly blank page.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to main page
2. Type something into search bar that doesn't exist in the page - for example "asdf"
3. press enter

Expected behavior see something like "No search results for 'asdf'"
