I was very surprised that this piece has not bit-rotted, other than the Make-ish in the configure script guaranteeing it was not being built.

Draft status for now -- I discovered a build issue with internal SDL that is relevant to this pull request.

It is a QEMU virtual machine running Linux. I am in the process of looking for old hardware to run it on the real thing.

I have recently acquired a G5 PowerMac -- I'll try to get this closer to mergeable soon.
