On other hand a live image of ubuntu 17.10 boots ok. As far as i could see, the sound card wasn't detected, the trackpad worked but was very irresponsive. Maybe it helps.

For further reference, here is the pixelbook 2017 reddit thread

I was able to install via chrx with no problems. I also copied the ubuntu 4.14 kernel on a usb stick and after installing that, wifi worked.

I have seen reports elsewhere online of the audio not working on the Pixelbook. Upping the priority of this issue.

If anyone else can replicate this issue or identify other Pixelbook specific issues, it would be nice to collect them all in this one issue (and hopefully maintain some semblance of order). :D

I remember trying this on a pixelbook 2017 before having to use it for something else (where I would like the stability of ChromeOS) and after some point in the install it would hang at a screen that was entirely blue with the installer background colour

the trackpad worked but was very irresponsive. (https://www.reddit.com/r/GalliumOS/comments/7a58ff/pixelbook_2017_thread/)

That was my experience as well once I installed another os (linux, I don't remember the distro)
