What're you on about? That model doesn't have hardware mouse buttons, just a big clickpad like every other Chromebook.
To clarify, this is in fact the intended behaviour for a clickpad. Pressing the trackpad down is always registered as the same event (there is usually only one switch under the trackpad after all) and software emulation has to take care of the rest based on where or how many fingers are on the trackpad.
Following Joshua Woehlke installation instructions -- MrChromebox firmware in UEFI Full ROM mode and standard release GalliumOS 3.0 -- the hardware right mouse button below the touchpad does not work. Two-finger tap does work and has the effect expected from the right mouse button.
Attempting to use the GNOME Tweak Tool to switch the mode from "finger" to "area" has the effect of disabling two-finger tap although this is documented to effect only software emulation of mouse button actions, and hardware mouse buttons are supposed to work regardless of this mode setting. The hardware right mouse button does not work regardless of the mode setting.
