After I upgraded to GalliumOS 3.0 I stumbled upon this upstream bug in the default image viewer Ristretto:
When there are some thumbnails for a folder (i.e. generated by Thunar) then Ristretto will display them. But Ristretto 0.8.2 will not start generation of thumbnails.
With Ristretto 0.8.0 this worked well.[^1]
The Bug was fixed in Ristretto 0.8.4[^2]. The packages ristretto[^3] and libxconf-0-3[^4] (dependency) from Ubuntu 19.04 work on my GalliumOS installation as expected, so maybe they could be included in the GalliumOS repository?
