@silvercats can you also add cat /etc/os-release
too? You're probably on GalliumOS 3.1 but for posterity it's important we have that info too. 4.6.18-galliumos (from uname
I'm guessing?) is just the kernel version.
I was able to fix this after reading an article. Apparently some kernel config change. After that the freeze is fixed. The article said it could cot a battery lost (small)

That's great! Do you remember the article or the kernel config change you used? I am having freezes sometimes and I would like to try whatever you did.
I googled and found the article. You have to change some text in a file. can't find the link now. /it was some time ago

Try this: https://itectec.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-system-freezes-completely-with-intel-bay-trail/
The system freezes completely until I use a hard reset. My device is a Lenovo 11e GLIMMER (BayTrail) device.
https://askubuntu.com/questions/803640/system-freezes-completely-with-intel-bay-trail
It says this bug has been fixed in the Kernel, but it seems to persist.
My version 4.6.18-galliumos.
(I did the editing the file fix mentioned in the above Thread, But not sure it helps or not. But this fix seems to have battery issues)
