"Unable to mount GALLIUMOS" on USB #624

I'm getting an error in creating my bootable USB from the correct hardware version (Bay Trail). The .iso file passed checksum and is correct, but when I write it to USB (tried 2 different flash drives) using my Mint Cinnamon laptop ... "Unable to mount GALLIUMOS. Error mounting /dev/sdb3 atg /media/(mycomputer)/GALLIUMOS: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb3, missing codepage or helper program, or other error." I'm 2 months into Linux, so a near-total-newbie, but having tried about 20 distros on various laptops so far, I feel like I shouldn't be getting tripped up by this error at this stage in prepping for GalliumOS for a Chromebook. It may be an easy fix, but I'm stumped. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

@EngMomma Be sure to follow the instructions at https://wiki.galliumos.org/Installing/Creating_Bootable_USB

Specifically, make sure you're using a tool that does things properly. Some ISO writing tools modify the contents in the process.

There are further troubleshooting steps at the bottom of the page. Let us know if you have further issues!

@reynhout Thank you! Sorry to say I'm still having issues ... I had been using USB Image Writer on my Mint laptop, so I did snag Balena Etcher and followed the directions to a "T." I did let it run through the Validation process, as well. Now I'm getting in Etcher, "Attention. Something went wrong. If it is a compressed image, please check that the archive is not corrupted. Cannot read property 'message' of null." This is confusing because the checksum was fine. I have an old Windows desktop ... I'll reformat the USB drive again, download GalliumOS there, and try writing it with Etcher (and Rufus) to see what happens.

It worked on the old Windows desktop. I've loaded it onto a Dell Chromebook and it's working great - thanks!
