Improve error handling for parallel runs #59

Sometimes individual simulations in a workgroup fail - investigate, and also improve error handling to at least display an error message.

@bauer-matthews if it's simply logging error messages, it should take less than 0.5 hour. Some simulations fail, in the f16, because the model enters an invalid region or the solver can't handle it--these are expected.
