Q&A: What lives where? Hacked Game Card & Saves, Swiss, Backups, SD Gecko / SD2SP2 etc #18

Would I still need an SD Gecko if my GC can use the SD2SP2? Basically wondering which of the above will end up "living" on the SD2SP2, the 1st Hacked GameSave Card, my own memory card, the SD Gecko (if that's in play), etc.

Device What Lives There
Game Save Card 1 or More Hacked Game Save (bootloader)
Homebrew Application (Swiss or GBI)
Regular Game Saves
SD2SP2 "Homebrew" (Swiss, GBI, Emulators, Backups, etc)
Not needed if you just want GBI and have created a GBI game save card
Only works in DOL-001, which has SP2
SD Gecko Same as above.
Not better or worse (nor faster or slower).
Hardly different. Just easier to reach.

You can use a hacked game save card just like a regular game card, except for the game for which the hacked save applies.

For Example: \ If you have a hacked game save for Wind Waker, and you want to play Wind Waker normally, you have to swap to a different card.

You never have to remove the SD Gecko or the SD2SP2, unless you have a game that, for some reason, actually needs both EXI (Game Save Card) Slots, or needs the Serial Port 2 (which I think is limited to PSO, with the broadband adapter).
