other instrument tracks not played #1127

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
When playing Drums on official song roster tracks, guitar, bass, and vocal
accompany is not played back. Same effect when playing guitar or base,
where other instrument accompaniment is not played.

Using Rock Band song pack, the resulting layout is as follows:

Tier 01 - Warmup
Tier 02 - Apprentice
Tier 3 - Solid Songs
Tier 4 - Moderate Songs
Tier 5 - Skilled Songs
Tier 6 - Challenging Songs
Tier 7 - Blistering Songs
Tier 8 - Nightmare Songs
Tier 9 - Impossible Songs
Tier X1 - Bonus Songs

.. within "Tier 01 - Warmup":

Beastie Boys - So What'cha Want
Bikini Kill - Rebel Girl
Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf
Go-Go's - We Got the Beat
L7 - Pretend We're Dead
Linkin Park - One Step Closer
Lit - My Own Worst Enemy
Modest Mouse - Float On
Paramore - Thats What You Get
Squeeze - Cool for Cats
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
The Smashing Pumpkins - Today

.. and within "Beastie Boys - So What'cha Want":

album.png
drums.ogg
guitar.ogg
notes.mid
notes-unedited.mid
rhythm.ogg
song.ini
song.ogg

I've played back song.ogg, and it's a skeleton of a song. guitar.ogg
indeed plays the guitar track, drums.ogg drums, etcetera, so ultimately ...
why doesn't fofix play them? :p

I've had this problem for about a year now, and tested with 3.121 final and
it's still there. Python version is 2.6.4, OS is Linux 2.6.32.3.

Although the ReportingBugs suggests including logfile output, I expect it
wouldn't be necessary in this case. If it is, let me know and I'll post one.

I could of course mix the oggs together to output a new song.ogg, but of
course I'd prefer to play them as is.

sorry, please discard this bug as a duplicate of #1126 (the one DIRECTLY
preceeding
this... -.-)

This is not a duplicate of issue 1126. 1126 is a proposal for the future; this
is not.

Have you checked your track volume settings? Perhaps the other tracks are
indeed
playing but are being muted. I'd like to see your configuration file
(fofix.ini).

Could this be a pygame 1.8+64bit CPU issue?
I encounter this issue on 2 of my PCs.
The fix is to build myself pygame 1.9.
