Don't know if i have the same problem. But i fail MUCH easier on FoFiX then on
the
real GH3 or RB. The meter drops way to fast and don't seem to want to go up for
a
loooong time.
I have great FPS right now on my new computer.
Intel C2D @3,6 GHz
Nvidia 8800 GTS 512MB
4 GB RAM.

have you tried limiting the FPS and seeing if that makes a difference? (I'm just
curious to get some actual corroboration on this)

Oh, i've seen that problem for sure.
There are other things that are still framerate dependant and that should not
(e.g.
note streak text).
I haven't had time to go fixing these issues yet.

@death.au
I have FPS set. Limited to 60.

I'm limited to 60, and It's near impossible for me to fail. I can stop playing
a song
for a while and not even come close to failing. I definitely fail easier on RB
and GH.

I just tried with limiting the fps comparing 60 and 5. Didn't see much of a
difference (if there was any it was just way to hard to see with 5 fps). Is
this a
matter of limiting/not limiting?

it's possible that it's not based on FPS, but on... performance.
FPS limiting doesn't seem to change anything for people, but if you have a
higher FPS
(without limiting) the rock meter seems to drop quicker...

It makes no sense why fps or performance should affect it. Rock meter is tied
directly to the notes. It should drop for a miss and rise for a hit. How can
fps
or performance possibly affect this? Are we somehow not noticing misses and/or
not
getting credit for hits?
Speaking of which, there definitely do seem to be times where I hit a note but
it
appears to be counted as a miss, even though I see the hitflame and hear the
note.

The latter is the case. In really fast streams of notes, hits and misses make a
lot
less difference than they should. This is related to issue 491 .
