Overdrive/Starpower sounds like echoing "light-saber" #760

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When activating overdrive/starpower, it sounds like the star wars
light-saber sound.  Occurs in Rockband and guitar hero based themes.
2. I am also able to re-produce the sound numerous times after the initial
activation by tilting the guitar over and over.

Using FoFiX SVN r1483 on Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit with python2.6.

I can't remember what rev this started happening on but it was around r147x
