As the title says.
There has been a bit of discussion about this on the FoFiX theme ideas
thread here: http://fretsonfire.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=37728&start=264
Support of animated GIFs, APNGs or MNGs is something that gets requested
occasionally as it is, so I thought it was time it had an issue for it,
even if it is for sometime down the track still.

Oh yes, I almost forgot. There was mention of a python wrapper for libmng, if 
anyone
wanted to look into it:
