Wiimote power off cause controller config error pop-up #149

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

When I finished setting audio/video settings to my liking (GCN controller),I
tried resuming and it keeps showing me an error (preventing me from resuming)
until I
re-activated said wiimote and then I resumed successfully, when nothing was
truly wrong with the controls at all.

audio/video setting have nothing to do with controllers, you must have leaved
the wiimote assigned to one of the player in controller settings menu. The
message only occurs if one of the assigned controller is not detected.

btw, which wiimote is it and how did you powered it off ?

I only have one wiimote,it timed out faster because of only two power units of
energy are left in my wiimote.
It is annoying to have to burn all the power in my wiimote/switch control
method just to resume playing my current game.

I don't understand: first you said you had to reconnect the wiimote to get past
the input error message, now that you have to wait for the wiimote to run off
battery (and shutdown), please be more clear.

As i said, the error message only appears if one of the configured input
controller is not found. If the wiimote is not attached to any player, the
program does not care about it being disconnected or connected. Again, check
your settings in controllers menu and check which type of device is attached to
EACH player. Also give me the configuration you are using i.e what is setup in
ports A & B on the left side.

By powering off I mean that leaving it idol long enough makes it turn itself
off.

What I meant is that I do not want to leave my wiimote running while I am not
using it just because of the error wont let me continue my game.

Player one controller is set to use the GCN controller in slot 1 (gamepad) and
Player 2 is set to use the wiimote, obviously (gamepad).

In closing,I think it should show the error but allow you to choose to continue
anyway.

Disable player 2 if you are not using it, simple (i.e set port B to NONE) and
it won't bother you anymore.

The message is there to prevent people going to the game with wrong controllers
setup, which could prevent them going back to the menu. I guess I could simply
check that at least ONE configured controller is connected though. Your own
suggestion is good too but there is no reason to give user choice when you know
they will still be stuck after that, I will think about a compromise between
the 2 solutions.
