Stepper motors are costly. One circuit requires 7.5k (2500 motor + 3000 drive + 2000 power supply).
They damage fast since they are running on such a high power (48v, 1 Amp).
They heat like Iron box.
I have limited knowledge about dc motor. but I think dc motor with quadrature encoder can be cheaper alternate
We have bought 1000rpm ,~6kg torque dc motor along with H bridge.
Motor costs 150 rupees and H bridge 50+.
Test these things and lets see if they can be any useful:-
[ ] Acceleration
[ ] speed control
[ ] position control and accuracy
[ ] Easy of programming
[ ] Adding IMU sensor.
[ ] Per unit cost if we plan to use it in Right Arm.
