Torque Tool Box crashing #8

Closed TwistedFlickerBoot closed 11 years ago

TwistedFlickerBoot commented 11 years ago

The Torque toolbox is crashing when more than one project exists. I am going to reference a thread that has a good chunk of info on this. There is a post that says that error is only on the closed source version and shouldn't exist on the open source.

It still exits, fresh install of Windows 8, then installed Torque3D through github for windows. My screen looks exactly like the screenshots in the thread when I add another project or try to use the toolbox with more than one project available.

Have you replaced the Toolbox with the Project Manager?

I see, I get it now, was just confused. Didn't realize that there was a separate download for a project manager instead of using the toolbox that comes with the engine.

Will install the project manager.

It is confusing as a new user when going over the documentation/tutorial which is using the github MIT open source version that never mentions anything about a project manager that needs to be downloaded and is using the toolbox that comes with the engine.

I know the tutorial is hosted by GarageGames so I will mention something over there. As it shows how to obtain the engine from github, setup, and using, but never mentions project manager.

The Project Manager was implemented as a replacement after the Documentation was published. Updating the FPS Tutorial, as well as any relevant documentation that points to the old Toolbox, is on the roadmap. This information has been presented as part of the T3D Update Blog series on the GarageGames website, as well as the steering committee meeting notes in the forums -- unfortunately this is not as obvious to newcomers.
