data input consideration #119

Like we talked about in the lab, we will likely remove the dependency on geodata for the issues this package may experience. By the way, there is a new dataset of crop-specific cropland maps globally. All these datasets are publicly available, so the user will find it easily if we provide good documentation with links for each dataset.

@krishnakeshav, let me know when you are available so we can implement this new issue together. Thanks!
