Wrong alignment default google earth and open folder icons in internet explorer 8

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Go to www.bimbambom.nl homepage with i.e. 8 and you`ll see the false
alignment
2. On the test pages you`ll see the same problem with i.e. 8
3. The alignment is correct with Firefox 3.6.3

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Geoxml.js on Joomla 1.5.15 with the Google Maps extension of Mike Reumer

Is there a way to get rid of the default "google earth icon" and "the open
and closed folder icons"?

Have been struggling for hours with this issue so your help will be
appreciated.

The spacing in the sidebar are controlled via css by default... check out the 
two sample css in the downloads.

You may change the icons used for instance 
http://www.dyasdesigns.com/geoxml/customsidebar.htm

(not sure what is exposed in Joomla or even what version
 of GeoXml they are using though)

Note without the icons there is no opening and closing of folders.
