error if STATIC_ROOT/STATIC_URL is not defined #306

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install grappelli (trunk) & admin-tools acc. to the docs
2. browse to /admin/
3. Caught AttributeError while rendering: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 
'rstrip'
