Coursera login page not opening #1

The coursera login page shows a blank page instead of a sign in form.

Still not loading the Coursera login page for me.

Remove the user.cookies file from AppData/Roaming and try again.

I am still seeing the original behavior in 0.11.3. Should it be fixed in this version? I have removed user.cookies, per above. Thank you so much!

@tracyandgiles It should work without any problem. I have tested it on both Windows and Mac OS. What issue are you having? Please send a screenshot.

Hi, Gautam: Thanks for looking at this. Much appreciated! Here is a screenshot of what I get when I launch Borg (0.11.3), then go to Courses, then click on Add Course, then click on Coursera. The "infinite learning" graphic spins endlessly, and no login screen comes up. borg-screen

@tracyandgiles Just to be clear, are the Youtube channels opening without any issue?

I tried to add a YouTube playlist into My Courses and I was able to enter the URL and have the playlist title show up in the list of My Courses. However, there is no Download tab available on the right pane (not even an icon for Downloads), and I cannot select the YouTube item, nor can I click the Add Course button anymore. Even after I exit and restart Borg, I cannot click Add Course or select the YouTube playlist in My Courses.

An additional note: before installing 0.11.3, I had installed and then uninstalled 0.11.1. Should I do anything special to create a "clean" installation of 0.11.3, to try again? Thank you!

It could be an issue of a corrupted settings. Remove the settings folder from AppData/Roaming and try again.. This will reset all your settings and download list.

These files getting corrupted has been a recurring issue on windows. I don't yet know why this is happening, but I am working on it.

Thank you, Gautam! Removing the Settings folder fixed all of my issues. I now have a Downloads icon on the right pane, and I can successfully Add Course from Coursera and YouTube, and my YouTube playlist is click-able and download-able. Thank you, again! Really appreciate the work you have done on this tool.

hey!! i love borg! thanku! iim facing the same issue on mac. is it possible to attach screenshots of ur instructions to get rid of the "server not found" problem. i didnt quite understand what to do.

Inside borg, check preferences, where is stuff being downloaded? change it to someplace with space.

Facing this issue (server not found when logging into Coursera) in windows XP... tried deleting settings folder it persists

I was using on windows 10 before. it was working fine. just thought of installing on my old xp machine and I see this error. :( . I mean this is the first time I am trying on XP

The support on xp is not well tested, I had got it to work once, but it must have broke in the later updates. Borg uses the native browser to parse the coursera webpage, and internet explorer 6 is the default browser on xp. Which becomes quite difficult to support, I'll see if I can fix this. But there are more pending bugfixes with a higher priority first.

I even tried deleting Borg and reinstalling and the same problem persists, I was able to download youtube videos though but having trouble with coursera, you support is much appreciated

Yeah, I had to shift to blogger to cut costs. You can download the last version, Borg 0.11.3 from gautamji.com I am working on a rewrite of Borg, that will make it easier to maintain, but it will take time as I have been focusing on other projects.

Cool. It's a great effort mate. Keep it coming. Although, I am facing some issues with edx sync. It keeps showing infinite learning rotating circle but doesn't show my courses. Any clues?

Edx support for Borg needs an update, they have made some changes to their site and api.

I am unable to get Coursera Login Page display https://www.coursera.org//?authMode=login

I have tried it on Opera, Chrome, Explorer and Firefox (latest versions, fresh downloads, so no cookies issue)

I am using Windows 7 professional.
