App gets rejected after adding MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission #6

I have a status saver app and I am using MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission to get .Status folder in android 11 because I cannot access this folder using MediaStore. I have filled All File Access permission form on PlayStore but still my app gets rejected. Any workaround?

Mediastore should be working

I tried MediaStore yesterday and was unable to get the contents of .Status folder. I guess MediaStore doesn't get media from hidden foldders. Let me give it another try

Need to think of other solutions. Currently im busy working on other frameworks, so i ill be updating it later.

App rejected by play console for using manage_external_storage all file permission. They say use mediastore api.

in android 11, .statuses file location is different than that of android 10 or lesser

Yes sir...but google lay console rejects app that uses manage_external_storage_permission or all file access.....They say to use MEDIASTORE api

Using MediaStore we can get Hidden files

MediaStore cant access hidden files

no.. some apps are working... majority are nor working

This app also targetSdk 29. Check any Status Saver app targetSdk by using App Checker app. You will get App Checker app in Play Store.

This app also targetSdk 29. Check any Status Saver app targetSdk by using App Checker app. You will get App Checker app in Play Store.

App will work in Android 11 if targetSdk 29. If you set targetSdk 30 need All File Access permission. But from 1st August it's compulsory to set targetSdk 30.

me too face the same issue. the funniest thing is I appealed Google regarding this issue they replied after one month. they said you have to remove all files access permission instead of this you can use media store API. But there is no way to use this thing. so @GauthamAsir please kindly concern our request to fix this issue lot of developers depends you only bro.

Hey, refer to this, won't status saver come under backup app? If it is then the play store should accept APK

Hello Gautam Is ther any solution without Manage_External_Storage? I get all files of . Statuses folder with access Document Tree but in that problem is how to show photos & videos with treeuri?

Please find solutions as soon as possible.

We can use Storage Access Framework to get photos and videos.

My app WhatsTouch using SAF to get videos/photos, it is possible with SAF :)

Updated code for Android 11, now works without asking Manage_External_Storage permission. Check branch android-11(Note: code is not fully completed, its w.i.p).

Refer new branch for this issue to be fixed using Storage Access Framework method to get files.
