Repeating backgrounds in Safari #103

http://demo.gavick.com/wordpress/meetgavernwp/?p=207 - section: Buttons as an example

Browser: Safari

Buttons seem to be approx 1px-2px longer in Safari than in other browsers. This allows for the background to repeat horizontally and a 1px slice of "another" background becomes visible.

This seems to be the case with any other elemnts which have graphical backgrounds, too.

I don't see any problem with these buttons - also on Safari. Could you provide some screenshot? Maybe I don't see something.

I think it's a Safari bug - I've seen this same effect here on some GitHub's buttons too.

Definitely it is something with the rendering engine, because on my Safari there is no similar effect. Maybe you have enabled a zoom in your Safari? Because it is a similar situation like on the iOS Safari, when the page is displayed on the zoomed screen. It is additionally strange due the fact that backgrounds are based on the CSS gradients - so there is no physical background image.

I'm sure it's a Safari bug then. It exists no matter the zoom level. If I zoom out and zoom in again this effect disappears until I move the window - it then reappears again. It also happens on other zoom levels. There are also other glitches when zooming - gradients can partially disappear or rounded corners have a weird additional effect on them. I think it's best to report this to Apple and let them take care of it.

Ok, so I'm closing this issue.
