Ideas for other simple functions

This is not an issue -- just a few ideas the SmallTVPro may be able to perform within its limitations. Any of these could potentially improve its value as a multi-purpose desk toy.

Timer

Stopwatch: Tap to start/stop. Time counts up. Exit app (long press) to reset. Good for meditation, laundry reminder, etc.
Countdown timer: Tap to add minutes, When reaching 0, screen flashes on and off brightly. Exit app to restart new timer.
Pomodoro timer: Countdown timer based on Pomodoro technique (25 minutes focused work, 5 minute break). Tap to start a timer, then tap to pause/resume if needed. Upon timer end, flash screen on and off brightly. Tap to start the next 25min or 5min timer. Track with a small icon how many Pomodoros have been completed. Exit app to reset.

Quote of the Day/ Joke of the Day

Retrieve a random quote of the day in plain text from this free API: https://api.quotable.io/quotes/random or https://api.themotivate365.com/stoic-quote
Retrieve a random joke from https://v2.jokeapi.dev/joke/Any?safe-mode or https://official-joke-api.appspot.com/random_joke or https://icanhazdadjoke.com/api. Tap again for a new joke.

Simple fun/games

Jeopardy trivia - retrieve from http://jservice.io/api/random. Display question, then tap for answer. Tap again for next question. This would be great for passing time while learning!
Magic 8-ball: use https://www.eightballapi.com/api. Ask a question, tap to reveal fortune/answer.
Dice roll/ coin flip: tap to roll two D6 dice. Or, a set of dice like D4, D6, D8, D12, D20. Or at least a coin flip. (If device cannot generate random number, use an API call.)

More complex 1-button games

Blackjack - using https://deckofcardsapi.com to retrieve cards as text. Tap to draw a card (hit) on your turn. Otherwise wait 5 seconds to pass/stand. Use simple standard dealer rules (stand on 17). Start player with 100 money and automatically bet 10% each hand. Save highest winnings to memory.
Infinite runner - simple pixel graphic version, like the Chrome Dino game (played by 270 million people a month). Landscape scrolls horizontally, tap to jump obstacles, points increase with time. Save highest score to memory.
Reaction games - tap to stop a moving object in the right place, or react quickly. Example 1: Fishing - side view of lake, fishing bob moves slowly left and right, tap to cast hook and catch moving fish. Like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKHoCv1_dS8 but simpler. Example 2: When signal happens (race start, gun showdown), tap as soon as possible and measure reaction time with timer.

Mini mood light (only useful in low light/ night)

Automatically set brightness to maximum and display a solid color.
Default to very slow fade between all colors, or tap to select individual colors (red, blue, etc.). Optionally, let user configure colors by entering RGB color code during setup.

My top favorites are quote/joke and Jeopardy trivia! 😀

Are you using ESP-IDF or Arduino IDE or MicroPython? Feel free to email me at (my github username) at (gmail). For example, if you send the clock app code I could probably modify it for a countdown timer. The trivia/quote/joke app seems pretty easy too with just a simple API call and plain text to display.

@GeekMagicClock, also if you have time could you add cpu package power values to the monitor app. Its amazing and i use it daily. I use it battery powered. With a little backpack for this. I can give details for the ups system. I can charge the battery without turning the small tv off. IMG_20230929_230349_873

Tried v3.2.20 works as intended only one or two pixels missing on the bottom of the Power as seen on this picture 20231003_105942 but now looks amazing i can completely use it for checking pc status
