Why C#.Net 4.0 for the GUI? The goal is to get something done soon! This can be changed. It’s just the GUI, the backend stuff is going into C++. Qt or web would slow things down way too much. Mobile does not have the power. At this point Window 7+ boxes are like 80+% of what is out there. Add in XP boxes with .NET 4.0 framework installed and your at over 90% of the desktops out there.
When the system is running and people want it we can think about other OS’s and devices. Also building it as Windows Store app is needed in the future.
Done. This sure slowed me down, but now others can use this. Almost.
This is a meta-issue, but it’s worth posting anyway:
Compiling Caffe for Windows is a lot of work:
**What is this missing in this 2nd Proof of concept milestone***** Great documentation Production error checking Production friendly design. No research in what else can be done. No web based labeling or remote control Software only designed for pennies. No Android or Linux version Not for CNN training Bloated Caffe classification caffe core. Trusted Microsoft Windows Store Install For security reasons I don’t think it’s no longer safe to offer compiled binaries production release. Fortunately this looks much more possible than years past In the past there were USB Control, OpenCV, Win32 issues
