I think it's a bit of issue pollution if I start posting every issue for this milestone because the "2nd Proof of Concept" needs to be finished first.

Study, stand-alone frame that holds everything. Electronics all mounted with mounted power strip. 2+ redesigned solenoids leading to 3+ bins
Get PWM for conveyor motors running.
IR sensors for post solenoid detection
Rough bill of materials with sources. (Order parts)
Do a complete new build at least once for documentation & video.
A no CPU mode: Sort by coin size, metering, color.

A compact system will need better lighting. The more light you can pour on the coins, the quicker the belt can move, even with the cheapest of webcams. They have these little ring lights that are only 32mm in diameter. Each light is individually addressable. I have not needed it but this might be able map the 3D surface of the coin by running the light around the coin. The highlights and shadows would change for areas with different heights, but not for flat areas.

Camera Stand for microscope webcam: Adjust in X,Y,Z: Slots in mount for X and Y.
Z? One screw would be awesome, but I don’t think it’s worth it until I prove this is the best camera.

50-500X microscope webcam:

Is too far away.
The focus is too course.
