Edit: It's been reviewed and seems all good to me now 😊
Please Take Note!
The translation for the am-i-trans.md
page hasn't been reviewed yet by me!
I don't handwrite the translations for these pages, having dyslexia and all.
Instead I use OpenAI's ChatGPT to generate a first draft, which I then review one sentence at a time with the English original and translated Dutch draft side by side. (It's not often that I make large changes, mostly correcting wording and/or mixups like between 'gender' and 'sex' etc.)
I'll go into further detail about this (where I'll give the prompt used and describe the process in more detail) when the other pages are done, such that it might be added to the README.md
(or elsewhere) for others to use.
For now, however, please let it be clear that the page above most likely requires more work, that I won't have time for at this moment. (FYI, I made sure that the page links and other parts of the YAML do work as intended, of course)
First of all, thanks for taking a look!
The translations in the PR have been created using a combination of different tools:
Note: I've only run the site using gulp
, which means that gd
and graphicsmagick
weren't installed (I can run the site, but most images aren't shown on the pages). The main thing I haven't been able to test is the actual PDF, for that the URL in the _menu.hbs
might be incorrect, as well as its build action in the github workflow.
I'm willing to set up a page (or addition to the existing contribution page) describing the process above, just notify me if this would be beneficial. I can also just put the prompt I used below here in a reply to this comment.
Thanks for merging @Twipped! Am I correct in understanding that there's nothing more I need to do from here on to make the translation available online? I can't see it on the hosted site yet, but I assume that's because it hasn't been updated as of yet.
